The Glamorgan Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers

This Guild is affiliated to the Association of Guilds of Weavers Spinners and Dyers and has been in existence since 1978. We are a small guild of about 20 members and meet in the George Woods Room at the Old School, South Road in Sully near Cardiff. We meet on a monthly basis at either Saturday workshops or Tuesday evening meetings when an invited speaker will talk about or demonstrate various techniques on any of the three crafts as practised anywhere in the world, sometimes with slides or Powerpoint and example items.

Guests for evening meetings are always welcome, as they are for workshops so long as there are vacancies. To avoid disappointment it is advisable to book a place for workshops in Advance. Contact details for the members of the comittee are located on the programme page.

The Guild members are involved in other 'Outside' Events for example the Annual Exhibition at the Museum of Welsh Life, Wonderwool Wales at Builth Wells, FABICreATIONS: The Associations' National Exhibition and the Stitches and Craft Exhibition at the Cardiff CIA.

Wednesday 10th June 7.30 Talk – Sheila Cowling “Magical mystical alpacas and the fibres of the gods” Sheila has her own flock of alpacas and will be bringing some of her fleece to sell. Please contact Guild members for more details, contact details are listed on the programme page.
